Employee dress code

[Наша фирма] offers [нашего города] employees the option of Business Casual dress during regular working hours. Business Casual dress is appropriate for a professional work environment where customers, colleagues and other business people are likely to be interacting.

Employees whose jobs routinely involve direct customer contact, whether inside or outside our facility, are required to wear Business Professional attire arid accessories.

Business Professional: A standard attire worn in most professional business offices prior to the advent of "casual" work environments. A suit and tie for men and a suit or business dress for women.

Business Casual: Business Casual is not an excuse for sloppiness or an opportunity to wear clothing more suited to leisure, entertainment or other non-business activities. We will always expect employees to come to work everyday clean and pulled together in clothing that is pressed and without holes or frays. Also, employees who prefer to dress in Business Formal attire should continue to feel comfortable doing so.

Specifically, the Business Casual dress code addresses the following:

Dress Code Do's:

• Hosiery is no longer required for women
  
• Open-toed dress sandals for women are now allowed - but please: no casual sandals, flip flops or Birkenstocks. Save those for the weekend!
  
• Cropped pants for women are now allowed, but they should be closer to your ankle than your knee
  
• Sleeveless shirts for women are now allowed ~ but please: no spaghetti straps or tank tops
  
• Men should avoid wearing jeans-style pants, even If they are made of wool, linen or cotton.
  
• Men should remember to tuck in their shirts whenever possible

Dress Code Don'ts:

• Untucked shirts (men only)
  
• Wrinkled clothing
  
• Sweatshirts, sweat suits, sweat pants
  
• Leggings, jumpsuits, form-fitting stretch pants
  
• Cargo pants
  
• Capri pants
  
• Shorts
  
• Hats, caps or other head coverings (exceptions may be made for religious or medical reasons)
  
• Spaghetti strap tops
  
• Tank tops, halter-tops
  
• Non-collared shirts (men only)
  
• T-shirts that are suggestive, indecent or inappropriate
  
• Slippers, tennis shoes, athletic shoes
  
• Tight or revealing clothing
  
• Torn or frayed clothing
  
• Blue jeans, dungarees, denim

Also, in response to feedback we've received from many employees, women will no longer be required to wear hosiery or socks with closed-toe shoes and pants. In all other cases, employees are required to wear socks or hosiery.

У меня на одной работе был CEO - канадец, так вот когда все ходили в бизнес-сьютах (банк все-таки), он спокойно ходил в хоккейном свитере.

Фактически по сути это - любая рубашка с рукавами и любые брюки (не джинсы). Все. В чем проблема-то?

Рубашка и брюки требуют глажки и соответствующей обуви.

Еще чего - глажки. Я бы повесился. Просто покупаются только те рубашки, на которых есть надпись wrinkle free и нет надписи 100% cotton. Ну а с обувью и вовсе проблем никогда не было: кроссовки мне чисто эстетически не нравятся, я их только в спортзал ношу.

100% синтетика - это, наверно, тоже зверство будет. Рубашка типа "55% cotton, 45% polyester" обеспечивает вполне свежие ощущения при полной ненужности глажки. Говорят, появились в продаже какие-то хитрые рубашки типа "100% cotton, но все равно wrinkles free", но их как-то хитро сушить надо, а мне ради барахла влом мозги напрягать :-)

Джынсов нельзя, тэннисок нельзя, комбинезонов нельзя... Футболку с кодом RSA и ту нельзя! Да мне туда придти не в чем будет.

Да, Миша, теперь у меня есть все права потребовать, что бы ты перестал одевать Spaghetti strap tops, Tight or revealing clothing и flip flops на работе! Сразу сосед твой перестанет нервно головой вертеть, когда ты к нему незаметно сзади подкрадываешься.
